Mens Pageant 2

Mister Guam

You might not know it, but men do beauty pageants as well as women. A male beauty pageant took place in Thailand recently with an “Inspiring Gentleman” theme. However, this event is not only a beauty contest, even though one of the main requirements of contestants is to be ‘good looking,’ but the gentleman must also be an inspiration to the world. The most popular section of the event is the heritage costume competition. We don’t know what is better- the costumes, the men, or the comments section.

Mister Guam

First up we have Mister Guam representing his country with smoldering eyes and an ornate and flamboyant headpiece. Commenters loved this extravagant outfit and the man in it. One commenter said, “that’s Victoria’s angel in all his glory!”

Mister Guam

Another spectator said, “How much do you think that all weighs? It doesn’t look light.” and, “Impressive wing span…Mr. Guam is FABULOUS !” Some thought it was over the top saying, “The colors and costume look a little to Las Vegas to me.” And, “How many endangered birds were killed?”

Mister Czech Republic

Mister Czech Republic is charming the judges as well as the world with his stylish hat play and adorable smile. Some Czech commenters weighed in with, “Shame we can’t see the traditional socks and sandals in this pic :)” and “He’s the only one who looks like he’s having a good time.”

Mister Czech Republic

Yet another commenter wrote, “if you think this young man looking happy and like he is having a good time, then just wait until you see Mister PANAMA! Ha!” But before Panama is Mexico.

Mister Mexico

With something of a creepy skull hat, one thing we can all agree on for certain is that Mister Mexico has looks that could kill. Commenters were in love with this fella, but weren’t so crazy about his outfit.

Mister Mexico

“It looks like he forgot it was Halloween and just put some decorations on his head. Awesome sleeves though. Still a 10/10.” Way to go, Mister Mexico, if you can look good wearing a skull you can look good in anything.

Mister Panama

Mister Panama nearly broke the judges with his incredible costume and even more incredible good looks. He was a crowd favorite for sure. Commenters wrote, “I love the fact that he is actually smiling,” and the most popular comment was simply, “WOW!”

Mister Panama

But it didn’t stop there. Comments continued flooding in, “Mr. Panama can geeeettt itttt,” and “Why, hello Mr. Panama,” and “Just bought my ticket to Panama. BRT” Yep, he is a heartbreaker!

Mister Indonesia

Commenters couldn’t contain themselves from gushing, “This is fantastic !!! And I know how hard it would be to try to get all parts of Indonesia into one costume without it looking ridiculous.”But not everyone loved it. “It’s disconcerting that I can’t see his arms or hands. There’s just so much… stuff there.”

Mister Indonesia

One particular commenter summed it up well when they said, “Holy guacamole. And the costume’s not bad neither. Good lawd these men are beautiful.” Very true, even if this costume is impractical.

Mister Dominican Republic

Mister Dom Republic did not disappoint the viewers. One said, “He looks like he could kill you in an instant. In a good way, of course.” And, “here I am trying to eat my breakfast and I have to keep commenting about HOW GORGEOUS THESE MEN AND THEIR OUTFITS ARE.”

Mister Dominican Republic

Once again though, you can’t please everyone. Another commenter wrote in, “Good intentions, but poor execution (just my opinion.) But most everyone agreed with the sentiment of, “I’m going to have to float a boat over there soon.”

Mister South Africa

Commenters had mixed feelings about the handsome Mister South Africa. “Hahaha. If that man was wearing our real national costume that poor man would look terrible. It would be khaki shorts and khaki button shirt with long khaki socks.”

Mister South Africa

Nonetheless, he looks stunning in this mix of ethic and modern warrior outfit. He might be smoldering now but he ain’t got nothin on Mister Egypt’s eyes.

Mister Spain

Mister Spain looks like a well put together gentleman to us, but commenters from Spain begged to differ. One said, “What on earth is this? And I’m Spanish!” And, “I feel like he’s about to break out into the Flamenco.”

Mister Spain

The comment that summed it up said simply, “I want a man with some tall pants and a shooooooort…jacket.” Obviously referencing the song, Short Skirt Long Jacket by Cake.

Mister Egypt

Mister Egypt caused some laughs with his “faraway” gaze. “He might be trying Blue steel, unsuccessfully…” And “Is he trying to lift the crown with his eyebrows?” Someone answered, “Maybe the crown is too tight ;)”

Mister Egypt

“I wish I had his curls.” One thing is for sure, if you didn’t want to go to Egypt before, this picture might be enough to make anyone passionate about seeing the great pyramids.

Mister China

China is a huge country so it was very hard to put all their looks into just one. The result is this flowered jacket with a very cool belt. His costume seems demure compared to the other gentlemen on here.

Mister China

“China is complaining about the costume, but look at Mister Sweden and suddenly you’ll be happy you’re Chinese! IDK what is happening in Sweden but lol.”

Mister Poland

“Mister Poland will steal your heart… but is he dancing? :S” Most of the commenters on this were actually Polish. “I am glad to see it is of my people to wear dresses over pants.” and “Missing the hat, guessing it would mess his hair up.”

Mister Poland

One thing is for sure, his hair is perfect. We also like his fun striped pants and tasseled jacket, we can’t wait for these trends to hit the market.

Mister India

Mister India is as fabulous as ever. Commenters jumped at the occasion to weigh in. “I love the material it’s very beautiful,” and another commenter replied to the first, “Yes totally agree, it’s made out of husband material.”

Mister India

An orate jacket pairs perfectly with a matching turban and the big beautiful eyes that would make anyone swoon even from across an ocean. The jacket isn’t very exciting, but still not as funny as Mister Sweden.

Mister Puerto Rico

Again commenters from their native countries spoke up. “Honestly, as a Puerto Rican. I think they did macrame but not with rope like that, and I also feel they got lazy with this. If this costume was made for like a contest. Heaven forgive me, but its terrible. And im kinda annoyed.

Mister Puerto Rico

But most everyone else who did not have a problem with the weaving style of his neck piece said decidedly and unanimously that this was a fine gentleman indeed. Even if the costume was unimaginative, still not as bad as Mister Sweden.

Mister Sweden

Commenters had a hayday, “All thee dudes looking like actual gods and then poor Mr. Sweden.” a responded replied, “Nah. Maybe not “poor” but like…uh… “Happy Mr. Sweden the Kindergarten Protector”?

Mister Sweden

“Are we sure this isn’t an Ikea uniform?” and” Yeah, I’m a bit embarrassed being Swedish right now… :|” But an American weighed in as well, “see Mr. USA :/ you’ll want to stay Swedish.”

Mister Nigera

This handsome hunk looks amazing and could stop traffic for sure. But commenters had something to say about his costume that we’re sure had nothing to do with the gentleman in it. “The forgot to iron it, the wrinkles all over giving me anxiety. Lol”

Mister Nigera

Oddly, it does look like it just came out of a suitcase and no one had an iron. You’d think in an event this big SOMEONE would have brought a steamer along. Mister Nepal also forgot his iron at home.

Mister Nepal

“Why does it look like they just took it out the suitcase and put it on? Geez they should carry a travel steamer.” But not everyone cared about the wrinkles and were more concerned with whatever this prop is.

Mister Nepal

“Trying to walk through a door would be a disaster. Or being in a room with less than 11-foot ceilings. What is this costume?”

Mister Brazil

Mister Brazil is looking dashing in a red headband and equally fashionable red and white jacket outfit which is complimented by what might be a lacrosse stick.

Mister Brazil

It’s a cool costume you could wear to the store if you wanted to dress to impress. But nobody was looking much at him on stage because right behind him was Mister Cuba who stole the whole show, (at least until Mister USA.)

Poor Mister Cuba

“All these customs are gorgeous and then you have mister Cuba… Poor poor mister Cuba,” Someone retorted, “Still, not as bad as poor Sweden.” And someone else added, “Scroll down until you see Switzerland LOL”

Poor Mister Cuba

The best part about it is that the man inside the costume still manages to look in good humor even with those sleeves. He is proud of his country no matter what hat they put on his head.

Mister Switzerland

Mister Switzerland caused quite a stir in the audience. The comments came flooding in, “the real question you should be asking is ‘is this all that he is wearing?” “Last minute attempt when you’re invited to a costume party.” “Looks like he’s going for a boxing match,”

Mister Switzerland

“He’s a hybrid class Boxer-Medic! If you aren’t a good patient he will knock you out cold!” “He’s here to deliver first aid to the audience.” And last but not least, “Opening A Go Fund Me account for the purchase of travel steamer for next year’s pageant.”

Mister America

USA per usual needed to be different than everyone else, and here he is. “What?!? I am very disappointed, too. If they were going with Superman, the should have found a quality costume. The “S”….really??!!??

Mister America

But many viewers loved it. “Dude, its a beauty pageant. He won for USA.” Even if the “S” looks like it was sewn by a child. Still strikes pride in the hearts of Americans everywhere.

Mister North Cyprus

Mister Cyprus took the world by storm in his adorable vest and harem pants that remind us of Aladin. All over the world people wish Mister Cyprus would take them on a magic carpet ride. Commenters weighed in.

Mister North Cyprus

One said, “I’m from Cyprus I don’t even know what to say to this,” and the next commenter speaks for all of us when they said, “I didn’t know I wanted to move to Cyprus until right now.” If you like fun pants, you will love Mister Hong Kong.

Mister Japan

Mister Japan is rocking not only a very composed look, but also rocking a very nice sun umbrella that compliments his personality and his ensemble.

Mister Japan

This may be the richest outfit of all with lush fabric, and to the shocking surprise of all the audience, it actually appears as if it was ironed recently. Too bad he wouldn’t share with the other contestants.

Mister Hong Kong

Even though the heritage costume section of the pageant is new, the contestants don’t come to play in their costumes — these elaborate works of art take time and money to create and can be quite heavy, just ask Mister Hong Kong.

Mister Hong Kong

A commenter noticed, “it’s like Mister Hong Kong and Mister Peru were having a competition who could have the bigger, heavier thing on their heads! I’m not sure who is winning… or losing depending on how you look at it.”

Mister Portugal

Giving Mister Czech Republic a run for his money. He wouldn’t turn too many heads in today’s modern hipster environment. His hat suits his curls perfectly, we hope he dresses like this every day.

Mister Portugal

The detailed embroidery on his shirt is quite nice, but we don’t think anyone will be looking at his shirt when he has such a handsome face and pouty smirk.

Mister Togo

Representing Togo we have a cool lacy shirt and a beautiful headpiece with some traditional jewelry. Togo kept it classy and didn’t want to give their model a headache with a 10-pound headdress. Which Mister Peru is probably very jealous of right now.

Mister Togo

These incredible men certainly are an inspiration for fashion and culture all over the world, not only in their own countries.

Mister Peru

Finally, we have Mister Peru who looks ready for battle with an intense gaze and an even more intense golden hat. If you’ve never been to Peru, this will surely be your inspiration.

Mister Peru

Commenters loved it, but still said: “as awesome as this is, Mister Sweden and Mister Cuba will always have my heart no matter what happens.” We’re eagerly awaiting next year’s costumes!
